Our Socially Savvy School Holiday Program is designed to teach essential social skills through engaging play activities and creative sessions led by skilled, behaviourally trained practitioners.
At Links to Life, we’re committed to helping children thrive at school through a social skills program built on guided play and peer interaction — giving kids the chance to practise important social behaviours in ways that connect to their daily lives.
Held during school holidays, the program combines play, creativity, and movement to create a dynamic learning experience. From obstacle courses and pretend play to sensory activities and art projects, every session is designed to engage, educate, and empower. We provide a structured environment where children can:
Play is a natural and effective way for children to learn, practise, and reinforce social behaviours. It helps them navigate challenges, collaborate with peers, and build lasting friendships—all while having fun.
For families with children aged 3 to 6 with developmental delays and autism, our social skills programs can be especially valuable when built around play, as it creates a lower-pressure setting for learning connection, communication and flexibility. In a supportive environment, they can practise skills like turn-taking, reading social cues and joining group activities in ways that feel motivating and achievable.
Our social skills programs for autistic children and neurodivergent learners are diverse enough to meet a range of needs and interests.
Activities like scavenger hunts, Lego building challenges and pretend play allowing kids to collaborate and communicate.
Games like musical chairs and obstacle courses teach cooperation and respect for rules.
From painting to sensory play with lights, textures and sounds, children learn different ways to actively engage with the world and others.
Our activities are supported by skilled, compassionate professionals that help children navigate social challenges. They will develop the confidence to express themselves, join group activities, and build meaningful relationships with their peers.
Children develop the courage to initiate conversations, join group activities, and express themselves effectively in social settings like the schoolyard.
Through role-playing and collaborative activities, children practice listening, taking turns, and articulating their thoughts clearly.
The group fosters teamwork, empathy, and understanding, enabling children to form meaningful friendships and navigate social dynamics with ease.
Activities teach children how to handle emotions constructively, reducing feelings of frustration or overwhelm in social situations.
Through interactive games and challenges, children learn to resolve conflicts, negotiate, and find solutions collaboratively.
Exposure to diverse scenarios prepares children to adjust to different environments and situations, boosting resilience and flexibility.
Practice during school holidays gives children the tools they need to navigate playtime, group discussions, and other schoolyard interactions confidently.
By engaging in imaginative play, children build creative thinking skills while discovering joy in shared experiences.
Movement-based activities like obstacle courses and dancing encourage physical development while reinforcing cooperative play.
Participating in the group helps children feel accepted and valued, creating a foundation for long-term self-esteem and community connection.
Autistic children often benefit from explicit, supported opportunities to practise social interaction in a manner that feels predictable. Our program uses structured group activities and guided play to help children work on foundational skills such as responding to peers, joining shared activities and managing frustration.
By breaking social learning into practical, supported moments, social skills programs help children build greater confidence, participation and comfort in everyday group settings over time.
Our Social Skills program, Socially Savvy, runs between the school terms Tuesday – Thursday 9.00am – 3.00pm. Please reach out to us for more information.
This program is open to all families with a child aged 7 and under regardless of funding type. Families need either NDIS funding available under relevant support category Capacity Building, or capacity to pay privately.
At Links to Life, our approach is shaped by the professional expertise of a qualified team who specialise in behaviour therapy (ABA informed) and deliver a support that is purposeful, consistent and grounded in evidence-based practice.
Every aspect of our social skills program is designed to make meaningful progress so children build confidence in their interactions at home, school and in everyday life.
Let’s give your child the tools they need to shine in the schoolyard and beyond. Together, we’ll build their confidence and empower them to thrive socially—one playful moment at a time.
